Job Description:

The Regional Privacy Specialist – Asia Pacific, Latin America & Canada - plays a key role in driving privacy compliance and risk management across the region. This role provides hands-on support to business and digital initiatives, leads privacy assessments, and partners closely with Legal, IT, and Security to embed privacy-by-design into business operations.

This role requires strong judgment, independence, and the ability to understand and identify risk, partner with cross functional teams to manage and address it, influence without authority in a matrix environment.

Key Responsibilities

Privacy Advisory & Risk Management

• Support DPO and Local Core team in operationalization of India DPDP requirements, working closely with business Stewards.

• Support DPDP-aligned Privacy risk assessments, Law readiness gap assessments and drive remediation implementation, monitoring and closure, working with Project team and local core teams.

• Assist regional SMEs and Privacy Leads by managing high-volume PRAs and new and amended regulation risk assessments and prioritized remediation across APAC.

• Document risks, recommend mitigations, track action plans, and ensure assessment quality and timely completion.

• Provide day-to-day operational support to Privacy SMEs, across divisions and markets to reduce bottlenecks and compliance risk.

• Assist with audit readiness, regulator queries, and ongoing governance documentation.

• Support implementation and optimization of privacy tools (e.g. data mapping, consent management, data request management platforms)

• Stay up to date on data privacy regulations and support to take required steps for compliance

• Managing multiple tasks and delivering quality results under tight deadlines

• Proactively partner with functional groups (HR, Finance, Facilities,…) to ensure that the adoption of new technologies, processes, services and solutions are compliant with the applicable data privacy regulations.

Regional Engagement

• Act as a trusted privacy advisor to business

• Support country privacy leads and stewards in Privacy related initiatives

• Contribute to regional privacy governance, standards, and procedures

Program Execution & Improvement

• Drive remediation of privacy risks and control gaps

• Support privacy audits, regulator interactions, and issue management

• Identify and implement process improvements across privacy operations

• Communicating effectively with senior stakeholders and project teams

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years working experience

• Risk management background, risk advisory experience

• Excellent understanding of internal processes and systems of various enterprise functions

• Strong stakeholder management skills

• Adapting to change, work proactively with high ethical values

• Strong aptitude for Compliance and attention to detail

• Analytical and problem-solving bent of mind

• Quick Learner

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft office applications e.g. PPT, Excel etc.

Preferred

• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or highly regulated industries

• Privacy-related certifications (CIPP/E, CIPP/A, CIPM, or equivalent) /experience would be an added advantage

• Strong working knowledge of data protection laws
