Job Title: Assistant Design Manager – Valves
Department: Engineering / R&D
Reporting To: Engineering Manager / Head – Design
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Design with 10+ years of expertise in industrial valve design for Oil & Gas, LNG, Subsea, and critical service applications. The candidate will lead design projects, manage a team of engineers, and ensure compliance with international standards such as API and ASME.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead end-to-end design and development of industrial valves (Ball, Butterfly, Plug, etc.).
•Review and approve design calculations (pressure, stress, torque, sealing performance).
•Ensure compliance with API 6A, API 6D, API 6DSS, ASME B16.34, ISO and other international standards.
•Guide team in detailed engineering, 3D modelling, drawings, and BOM preparation.
•Lead new product development and design improvements.
•Coordinate with QA/QC, production, procurement, and testing teams.
•Support third-party inspections, audits, and customer technical discussions.
•Handle failure analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
•Drive cost optimization and design standardization initiatives.
Required Skills
•Strong expertise in valve design for high-pressure and critical service applications.
•In-depth knowledge of API, ASME, ISO, NACE, PED standards.
•Leadership and team management skills.
•Proficiency in SolidWorks / AutoCAD.
•Strong analytical and decision-making capability.
Qualification
•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Additional Details :
1. Working Days: Monday to Saturday (1st and 3rd Saturdays off)
2. Experience: 10+
3. Working Time: 9.30am to 6.30pm
4. Gender Preference: Male / Female
