Job Description:
A Water Treatment Engineer for an AdBlue (DEF) manufacturing company ensures the ultra-pure water (DI/RO) and process water meet strict ISO 22241 standards. They manage demineralization plants, effluent treatment (ETP), and quality control,, maintaining process efficiency. Key roles include operating RO systems, reducing water waste, and ensuring urea blending water quality.
Core Responsibilities
- Water Quality Assurance: Ensure raw water is processed to meet strict purity standards necessary for AdBlue production.
- Process Operation: Manage and operate RO (Reverse Osmosis) plants, demineralization (DM) plants, and softener plants.
- Wastewater Management: Oversee the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and ensure Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) compliance, if applicable.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on pumps, sensors, membranes, and chemical dosing systems to minimize downtime.
- Quality Testing: Conduct in-house water tests (e.g., pH, conductivity, hardness, silica) to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Chemical Management: Manage inventory and application of process chemicals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3–8 years of experience in industrial water treatment, specifically with high-purity water systems.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of RO membrane systems, DI technology, and waste disposal regulations.
- Skills: Strong analytical ability, proactive maintenance mindset, and ability to handle troubleshooting in pressure scenarios.
Key Focus Areas for AdBlue (DEF)
- Ensuring water does not introduce impurities (like iron or calcium) that would jeopardize ISO 22241 certification.
- Optimizing energy usage within the water treatment plant.
- Documenting all operations for compliance and audit requirements.
