Position Overview

The SAP Material Master Specialist who is responsible for the end‑to‑end creation, maintenance, governance, and compliance of Material Master, BOM, QA specifications, and WMS data across multiple manufacturing sites, procurement, and R&D locations.

The role ensures high data accuracy, process adherence, timely updates, and strong coordination between Procurement, QA, Supply Chain, IT, Warehousing (CFA/Hub), and Plant Operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Material Master Management

• Create and extend Material Master records based on stakeholder inputs across Goa, Baddi, I&D, LL/TPM, and CFA/Hub.
• Assign inspection plans in alignment with site-specific product specifications.
• Update Shelf Life, Retest Periods, and other QA‑related master data upon site requests.
• Link Approved Manufacturing Part Numbers (AMPN) with approved vendors as per Supplier QA requirements.
• Deactivate materials and apply deletion flags as part of approved change controls.

2. BOM, SAP Updates & Site‑Driven Data Activities

• Upload Bill of Materials (BOM) using approved templates for applicable sites.
• Perform Weight & CFT updates (MM02) and other plant/location-specific data elements.
• Execute WMS (Extended Warehouse Management) data updates for CFA, Hubs, warehouses, and sites.
• Manage price updates with finance-approved purchase requests.
• Support stock restriction/unrestriction actions during recalls or site requirements.
• Handle brand transfers and variant updates for liquidation or planning requirements.

3. Change Control & Compliance

• Manage SAP-related change controls for Material Master, BOM, AMPN, and Inspection Plans.
• Extract and verify monthly Audit Trail data to ensure traceability, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
• Create, assign, and close Monthly MOC tasks in SolTraqs in alignment with business and audit requirements.
• Initiate corrective change controls during internal audits or when data discrepancies are identified.

4. MM Portal & User Coordination

• Manage user access creation, modification, and revocation in the MM Portal across all supported sites.
• Address user queries, resolve data issues, and facilitate new code creation requests.
• Update Material Master data in the portal based on user submissions.

5. Cross‑Functional & IT Collaboration

• Coordinate with IT teams to raise, track, and resolve SAP technical issues through formal IT ticketing.
• Collaborate with QA, Supply Chain, Purchase, Finance, Warehousing, and Site Operations to ensure complete and accurate data updates.
• Provide routine support to cross‑functional teams for SAP, WMS, and master data requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Commerce, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Experience working with SAP (MM module) and master data processes.
