Role: Program Manager, Variable Agency 

Location: Mumbai 

About the Role 

This is one of the most critical roles in the Channel Strategy Team: agency. It allows you to be part of the team that looks after the growth and innovation in Agency channel of Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance. In the role you closely liaison with business, strategy, marketing, product, operations and CXO’s offices to build growth strategy for the channel. 

About the team: 

The Channel strategy team is responsible to create the road map towards sustainable and profitable growth for the channel/organization.  The team is required to ensure the parameters and levers are on track by supporting the sales leaders and management with business insights, and viable solutions.  The strategy team works closely with all support functions to enable the sales teams in meeting the monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.  The team also ensures the PnL of the channel is healthy through improvement in productivity and maintaining planned product mix.

What you will be doing: 

1. Identify growth opportunities in Variable agency and design business solutions across different functions of the organization 
2. Own the annual business planning- working closely with, leadership, finance, and agency strategy teams
3. Liaison between Business, and other functions to ensure that identified actionable are executed effectively within agreed timelines 
4. Constantly monitor industry updates, gather market intelligence, and imbibe competition best practices to ensure variable agency stays ahead of the growth curve
5. Identify root causes of gaps in performance of Variable agency, when they occur, and recommend system structural solutions to the same
6. Ensure the product mix and distribution creation is in line with the plan

What we are looking for: 

• A strategic bent of mind with 4+ years of total experience with track record of delivery across cross functional teams 
• Prior experience in insurance industry is preferred 
• Result focus, integrated thinking across the value chain, and high level of ownership to drive outcomes 
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management 
• Bias for action and solution orientation
