Job Description:
A Manager PPC (Production Planning and Control) for a chain manufacturing company oversees the end-to-end production process, from raw material procurement to final dispatch. Key responsibilities include creating production schedules, optimizing resource utilization, managing inventory, and coordinating with procurement and sales to meet demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Scheduling: Develop detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production plans, including raw material and consumable requirements.
- Material Management: Analyze inventory, manage raw materials (e.g., steel/alloys for chains), and coordinate with purchasing for timely material availability.
- Production Monitoring: Monitor production progress, ensure adherence to schedules, and make necessary adjustments to meet daily production targets.
- Inventory Control: Maintain optimal stock levels, monitor non-moving items, and conduct reconciliation.
- Efficiency & Optimization: Implement, improve, and document processes to reduce waste and optimize machine utilization.
- Coordination: Act as a liaison between sales, production, quality control, and logistics teams.
- Reporting: Generate daily MIS, production reports, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like PQCDSME.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 10–15+ years in production planning, specifically in manufacturing, forging, or heavy industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations Management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, TCS ION), advanced Excel, and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma tools.
- Competencies: Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Production Plan Adherence (%), On-Time Delivery (OTD), Inventory Turnover, Machine Utilization Rate, and Reduction in Cycle Time.
