Job Description:
A Manager of Safety & Security in a chains manufacturing company ensures a hazard-free, compliant workplace and protects company assets, combining EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and physical security duties. Responsibilities include OSHA compliance, implementing machine guarding, conducting, risk assessments, overseeing security personnel, and managing emergency protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety & EHS Management: Develop and maintain health and safety plans, enforce PPE usage, manage waste/hazardous materials, and ensure adherence to EPA and OSHA standards.
- Industrial Security: Protect personnel, property, and assets through CCTV surveillance, access control systems, and monitoring restricted, high-risk, or inventory areas.
- Risk Mitigation & Audits: Conduct regular site inspections, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and risk assessments for manufacturing equipment.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, and security breaches; develop root-cause analyses and corrective actions.
- Training & Compliance: Organize safety inductions, emergency drills, and training sessions for staff.
- Security Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule security personnel.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in industrial safety and security, ideally within manufacturing.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and industrial fire safety.
- Skills: Leadership, crisis management, attention to detail, and risk assessment proficiency.
