Job Description:
A Civil Engineer (AutoCAD) in a construction company creates, edits, and manages detailed 2D/3D technical drawings (layouts, sections, structural details) using AutoCAD for site execution. They bridge design and construction by coordinating with project teams, ensuring compliance with building standards, and conducting site visits to verify design feasibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting & Design: Generate precise 2D/3D CAD drawings for infrastructure, structural, and civil projects.
- Site Coordination: Translate engineering sketches into technical plans and ensure on-site execution aligns with drawings.
- Modification: Revise drawings based on engineer feedback or on-site changes.
- Clash Detection: Collaborate with engineers to ensure structural, architectural, and MEP drawings do not conflict.
- Documentation: Organize and maintain technical drawing libraries and project documentation.
- Material Estimation: Calculate material quantities and assist with cost estimates.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: B.Tech/B.E. or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Software Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred).
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction principles, building codes, and regulations.
- Experience: Previous experience (1–5 years) in site supervision or drafting within a construction firm.
- Attention to Detail: High precision in producing construction plans.
