A Mechanical Engineer in a steel manufacturing company (e.g., in Raipur) manages the design, installation, and maintenance of heavy machinery like furnaces, rollers, and conveyors to optimize production. Key duties include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, CAD designing, and ensuring safety compliance, typically requiring a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Operations: Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on heavy machinery (furnaces, ladles, rollers, conveyors) to maximize uptime.
- Troubleshooting: Analyze mechanical failures, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement repairs.
- Design & Engineering: Utilize CAD software for designing, modifying, or improving components and structural steel systems.
- Project Management: Oversee installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations and promote a zero-accident environment.
- Team Leadership: Supervise technicians and staff, providing technical guidance.
