Job Description:
An IT Networking/Hardware Executive in a steel manufacturing company manages, installs, and troubleshoots server systems, plant-wide network infrastructure, PCs, and peripheral devices. Key duties include maintaining CCTV systems, ensuring uptime of PLC/SCADA control systems, managing LAN/WAN connectivity, providing user support, and handling vendor procurement for hardware repairs.
Job Description Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain hardware (servers, desktops, printers, and switches) and software, including upgrading systems and managing user access.
- Network Maintenance: Oversee LAN/WAN infrastructure to ensure high availability, monitoring network performance and security in a industrial environment.
- Industrial/Process Support: Troubleshoot and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), SCADA, and DCS systems that support production operations.
- Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting and support for hardware-related issues for staff, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Security & Safety: Implement network security measures (e.g., firewall configuration, antivirus) and maintain safety protocols for all IT hardware.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for hardware procurement, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate inventory records and prepare MIS reports as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent (e.g., BCA, B.Tech, or B.Sc. in IT).
- Experience: Generally 1.5–3+ years of experience in hardware support, network maintenance, or IT operations.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems, TCP/IP networking, cisco routers/switches, and CCTV systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, ability to work in a plant environment.
