Role Summary

The Lead – Compliance Testing is responsible for designing, executing, and overseeing compliance testing programs to ensure the bank adheres to applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. The role involves identifying compliance risks, assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, and reporting findings to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance Testing & Monitoring

• Develop and execute the compliance testing plan based on regulatory risk assessments.

• Conduct control testing and monitoring activities across various business units.

• Evaluate adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures.

• Perform thematic reviews and deep-dive testing on high-risk areas.

2. Risk & Control Assessment

• Assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls.

• Identify control gaps, regulatory breaches, and compliance weaknesses.

• Recommend corrective actions and track remediation plans.

3. Regulatory Knowledge

• Maintain strong understanding of banking regulations applicable to the institution (e.g., AML, KYC, consumer protection, data privacy).

• Interpret regulatory changes and integrate them into the compliance testing framework.

4. Reporting & Governance

• Prepare detailed testing reports, including findings, risk ratings, and recommendations.

• Present results to senior compliance leadership and relevant stakeholders.

• Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.

5. Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with business units, risk, legal, and internal audit teams.

• Provide guidance on regulatory compliance requirements.

• Support remediation efforts and ensure timely closure of issues.

6. Team Leadership (if applicable)

• Lead and mentor a team of compliance testers.

• Review workpapers and testing documentation for quality and completeness.

• Ensure adherence to testing methodologies and standards.
