Job Description:
An Assistant Manager Production & Planning coordinates daily manufacturing operations, develops production schedules, and ensures output targets are met efficiently while adhering to quality and safety standards. Key duties include managing material inventory, reducing operational downtime, and preparing production reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Scheduling: Creating and managing daily, weekly, or monthly production plans and schedules to align with sales forecasts and customer requirements.
- Material Planning & Inventory Control: Ensuring availability of raw materials, packaging, and supplies while optimizing inventory levels to minimize shortages.
- Production Optimization: Monitoring workflow and implementing efficiency techniques (e.g., Lean) to improve product quality and output.
- Operational Reporting: Generating and analyzing production reports, performance KPIs, and variance analysis (actual vs. budget).
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaising between production, quality control, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and regulatory protocols within the production area.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical or related field.
- Experience: 3-5+ years in manufacturing production and planning roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), MS Office (especially Excel), and data analysis tools.
- Competencies: Strong problem-solving, leadership, communication, and scheduling skills.
