Job Description:
A Planning Coordinator in a tower manufacturing company (e.g., transmission towers, telecom towers) acts as the bridge between sales orders, material availability, and shop floor production. They create, monitor, and adjust production schedules to ensure towers are fabricated, galvanized, and delivered on time, minimizing downtime and maximizing capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling: Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders and project milestones.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor shop floor capacity (fabrication, welding, galvanizing) and optimize resources (personnel, equipment) to meet deadlines.
- Material Coordination: Work with procurement to ensure raw materials (steel plates, angles, bolts) are available for production according to the Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Shop Floor Monitoring: Track progress of work-in-progress (WIP), identifying bottlenecks and resolving delays to ensure on-time delivery.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports on production output, inventory levels, and variances.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Sales (order status), Engineering (drawings/BOM), Quality (approval), and Logistics teams to ensure seamless workflow.
- ERP/Systems Utilization: Maintain accurate records in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for production orders, inventory, and material movements.
Desired Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: 3–8 years of experience in Production Planning & Control (PPC), preferably in structural steel fabrication, tower manufacturing, or heavy capital equipment.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/JDE) and advanced MS Excel.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with tower design, structural detailing, galvanizing processes, and BOM analysis.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
