Job Description:
A Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) - Electrical in a steel manufacturing company ensures the safe operation and maintenance of electrical systems in areas like the Steel Melt Shop (SMS), Rolling Mill, or Power Plant. Key duties include maintaining and repairing motors, transformers, and PLC systems, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on high-voltage and medium-voltage substations, switchgears, PLCs, and motors.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime in continuous production environments like Rolling Mills.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical systems and installations adhere to safety regulations, electrical codes, and plant standards.
- Projects & Installation: Support the installation of new equipment and plant expansions, contributing to technical specifications and commissioning.
- Documentation: Maintain maintenance records and develop standard technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of SCADA, PLC, and automation systems.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with maintenance teams in a heavy industrial setting.
