Job Description:
An Electrical Shift Incharge in a Ferro Alloys plant manages all electrical operations, maintenance, and safety during their shift. Key responsibilities include ensuring smooth furnace operations, conducting preventive maintenance on transformers/switchgears, troubleshooting faults, managing technicians, and documenting shift activities to maximize production and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Monitoring: Supervise electrical aspects of the furnace operation, including transformer, EOT crane, and LT/HT panel management.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance; diagnose and promptly fix electrical faults to minimize downtime.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of electricians/technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring safe work practices.
- Safety Adherence: Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety standards and company policies.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of shift activities, maintenance logs, and production reports.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: B.Tech/B.E. or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Generally requires relevant experience in steel, ferro alloys, or power plant electrical maintenance.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Substation/Industrial Distribution (SID), furnace design, and HV/LV equipment.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving, leadership, and emergency handling skills.
