Job Description:
A Cement Plant Supervisor manages daily production operations, oversees staff, and ensures quality standards (mix ratios) and safety compliance (PPE, OSHA). Key duties include monitoring machinery, scheduling, inventory control (raw materials/cement), troubleshooting issues, and training personnel to achieve production targets efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Oversight: Monitor plant machinery (mixers, conveyors) to ensure continuous operation and adherence to daily production targets.
- Quality Control: Perform checks on raw materials and final cement products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety regulations (personal protective equipment, OSHA) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Team Leadership: Supervise packing plant crews, shift operators, or technicians, providing training and assigning tasks.
- Inventory & Logistics: Manage raw material inventories and coordinate loading/unloading of trucks with dispatch.
- Maintenance Liaison: Collaborate with engineering teams for prompt repair of machinery to avoid downtime.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Generally 3–4 years of experience in cement, concrete, or quarry operations.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of cement production processes and machinery.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams and work independently.
- Education: Typically a Diploma or Degree in engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Documentation: Good computer skills for preparing shift reports and maintenance records.
