Job Description:
An Electrical Manager in a Ferro Alloys/Steel manufacturing company leads the electrical department, overseeing high-temperature furnaces, HT/LT systems, automation (PLC/SCADA), and power distribution. They are responsible for maximizing machinery uptime, executing maintenance strategies, ensuring strict safety compliance, and managing teams to achieve production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational & Maintenance Leadership: Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for furnace transformers, motors, and electrical panels to minimize downtime.
- Technical Expertise: Act as the technical authority for troubleshooting complex electrical issues, including submerged arc furnaces, VFDs, and control systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce rigorous health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, ensuring all operations meet legal, electrical, and regulatory requirements.
- Team Management: Lead, train, and mentor maintenance staff, technicians, and contractors.
- Project Management & Budgeting: Oversee electrical projects, upgrades, and new installations while managing departmental budgets and reducing energy consumption.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with production and mechanical teams to optimize furnace energy consumption and production efficiency.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience, ideally in Ferro Alloys, Steel plant, or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in high-tension systems, PLCs, SCADA, electrical schematics, and maintenance diagnostics.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and emergency response skills.
