Job Description:
A Shift Incharge - Ferro Production in a steel company manages daily Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) operations, maximizing production efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining strict safety protocols. Key duties include monitoring furnace parameters, directing personnel, controlling raw materials, and preparing comprehensive shift reports.
- Production & Process Management: Oversee SAF operation, managing the production process from raw material charging to tapping. Ensure achievement of production targets.
- Quality Control & Troubleshooting: Ensure Ferro alloy products meet quality standards. Monitor electrical/mechanical parameters and resolve operational issues.
- Safety & Compliance (HSE): Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and protocols (PPE, hazards management).
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare accurate logs of material consumption, production, and shift activities.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and guide workers, optimizing manpower utilization.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Generally 5-10 years in Ferro alloy production.
- Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Metallurgy or similar qualifications.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of SAF design, chemical reactions, and material flow.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and analytical skills.
