Job Description:

Position: Sr. Design Engineer/Assistant Manager (Overseas Solar Projects)

Location: Ahmedabad

Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in solar design for MWscale projects (rooftop or groundmounted). Experience with international (overseas) project design preferred. 

Required Skills & Competencies: The candidate should possess strong knowledge of MW-scale solar PV projects design (rooftop and groundmounted) with handson experience in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), PVSyst, SketchUp, Helioscope, and preferably ETap, along with a solid understanding of international electrical codes (IEC/NEC) and grid codes. The candidate must be capable of interpreting tender documents, utility guidelines, engineering drawings, performing detailed PV calculations, preparing technical design reports, and coordinating effectively with overseas teams. The candidate should also be capable of reviewing contour surveys, soil test reports, STAAD analysis reports, and ERT (Earth Resistivity Test) reports, and translating these findings into accurate structural, foundation, and electrical design requirements for the project including the ability to design switchyards and transmission Towers/lines up to 330 kV. 

Role Overview: 

The Candidate will be responsible for complete engineering support for international EPC projects, including MWscale rooftop and groundmounted systems. The role involves system design, technical documentation, tender engineering, and coordination with overseas teams, clients, and OEMs.

The Candidate will support both presales and postsales phases by providing accurate technical inputs and endtoend design deliverables. Prepare complete PV system designs and drawings after the analysis for MWscale rooftop and groundmounted projects and Verify gridcompliance requirements for overseas utilities.

Responsible for tender and presales engineering, including reviewing international tender documents, preparing technical BOQs and submissions, supporting technical clarifications, conducting prebid engineering and feasibility studies, and providing costeffective technical solutions based on project and client requirements.

Responsible for providing postsales technical support during project execution, including reviewing vendor documents, coordinating with clients and EPC partners for technical approvals, supporting commissioning teams with design validation and onsite queries, and ensuring compliance with IEC/NEC and utility standards.

Responsible for preparing design reports, datasheets, calculations, and engineering documentation, while maintaining versioncontrolled drawings, project records, and complete handover/asbuilt documentation.

Responsible for coordinating and communicating with overseas clients, consultants, internal design teams, procurement teams, and OEMs to ensure smooth technical evaluations, approvals, and project execution support.

Additional Expectations: 

The candidate must be capable of working with overseas clients with timezone flexibility, managing multiple design projects under tight deadlines, maintaining strong attention to detail with a quality driven approach, and be willing to travel overseas whenever required for technical discussions, site visits, audits, or project support.
