Job Description:

Job Responsibilities :

  1. Dispatch & Logistics Management
  • Supervise daily logistics operations of chemical products via tankers and other transport modes (IBC’s, Drums etc.).
  • Plan and coordinate loading schedules based on production and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure accurate documentation (invoices, transport documents, safety data sheets in local language and English).
  • Functional & Administrative leadership for inbound & outbound logistics.
  • To analyse, understand, continuous explore of alternative transportation solution for cost effective logistics.
  • Examines dispatch costs and negotiates with parties to reduce shipping expenses through carrier contracts.
  • Monitors and evaluates dispatch reports to effectively schedule and plan freight for outgoing finished goods.
  • Analysing of orders and other records to determine dispatch priorities, work assignments.
  • Manages the functions related to receiving incoming freight and packages, inspect rejects, record shortages and approves loads per ISO policies.

 

  1. Tanker Loading & Unloading
  • Oversee safe loading and unloading of chemical tankers.
  • Verify tanker fitness, cleanliness, and compatibility before loading.
  • Ensure proper sealing, labelling, and documentation of dispatched materials.
  • Monitor unloading procedures at plant or customer site (if applicable).

 

  1. Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to chemical safety protocols and company safety policies.
  • Monitor use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) by all personnel.
  • Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks before operations.
  • Handle hazardous material as per regulatory guidelines.
  • Report and investigate any incidents, spills, or near misses.

 

  1. Chemical Handling & Exposure Awareness
  • Work in environments with potential chemical exposure and ensure safe practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for all handled chemicals.
  • Implement emergency response procedures for leaks, spills, or exposure.
  • Directs the unloading and storage of incoming materials.
  • Manages chemical logistics processes, including receiving of tankers, packaging requirements, labelling, material certifications, loading shipments per weight restrictions and customer specifications.

 

  1. Coordination & Communication
  • Coordinate with production, warehouse, QA/QC, and transporters.
  • Communicate dispatch status and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Liaise with safety and compliance teams for audits and inspections.
  • Manages finished goods dispatch processes, including packaging, outsourcing, loading, and document generation and approval.
  • Prepares dispatch documents for shipments
  • Collaborates with sales, scheduling and production to achieve the Company’s key customer metric of On-Time Delivery and maintain accuracy of customer shipments
  • Supports process improvement activities

 

Skills  &  Exposure

➢ 3+ years of experience in chemical dispatch, tanker operations, or similar role

➢ Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015

➢ Individual must be able to carry out each job duty independently

➢ Strong knowledge of chemical safety protocols and hazardous material handling

➢ Experience in tanker loading/unloading operations

➢ Familiarity with safety standards, MSDS, and emergency procedures

➢ Ability to work in high-risk, safety-sensitive environments

➢ Knowledge of regulatory compliance (e.g., environmental, health & safety norms)

➢ Deep core understanding of working with the use of PPE’S at all times in operational areas

➢ Exceptional time management skills

➢ Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines

➢ Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to handle multiple priorities in a fast pace environment

➢ Ability to successfully engage and lead individual and team discussions and meetings

➢ Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments, carriers, customers, and other companies in a proactive and constructive manner

➢ Must be able to understand quality standards, methods and reporting as required

➢ Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook for report making & MIS

➢ Good Communication Skills
