PURCHASE EXECUTIVE FOR STEEL FABRICATION - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH

The Purchase Executive in a steel fabrication company is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials (such as steel, MS plates, pipes, structural steel) and consumables required for fabrication projects. The role ensures timely procurement at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards and vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure raw materials including MS steel, structural steel, pipes, sheets, fittings, and hardware items.
• Identify and evaluate new vendors for cost-effective and reliable supply.
• Negotiate prices, credit terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Raise purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites or fabrication yard.
• Coordinate with production and project teams to understand material requirements.
• Maintain inventory levels and avoid stock shortages or overstocking.
• Verify material quality as per technical specifications and drawings.
• Track market price trends of steel and related materials.
• Handle documentation such as quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and GRNs.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and budget limits.
• Resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, shortages, or quality discrepancies.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of steel and fabrication materials.
• Vendor negotiation and cost management skills.
• Understanding of basic engineering drawings and specifications (preferred).
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Commerce, or related field.

Experience Required:

• 2–3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in steel fabrication, construction, or heavy engineering industry.
