Job Description:
A Showroom Manager for an Electrical Products Trading company is responsible for leading the daily operations of the showroom, driving sales targets, managing inventory, and providing expert technical advice on electrical items (e.g., lighting, switchgear, wires, industrial components) to retail customers, contractors, and builders.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Sales Generation & Management: Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Negotiate prices, create quotations, and close sales deals.
- Showroom Operations & Merchandising: Maintain an appealing, clean, and organized showroom environment, ensuring proper display of products, especially lighting and high-end technical items.
- Product Expertise & Demonstration: Develop in-depth knowledge of electrical product features to offer technical service to clients and demonstrate products (e.g., inverters, lighting fixtures).
- Inventory & Stock Control: Oversee inventory management, including receiving stock, conducting regular inventory counts, and advising on items that need to be restocked or removed.
- Staff Leadership & Training: Train, mentor, and supervise sales staff on effective selling techniques and product knowledge. Monitor performance and resolve internal conflicts.
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Build long-term relationships with clients, including contractors, architects, and electrical engineers. Resolve customer complaints and inquiries efficiently.
- Reporting & Strategy: Prepare daily sales reports and analyze sales metrics (foot traffic, conversion rates) to identify opportunities for growth.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years of proven experience in retail management, preferably within the electrical, lighting, or hardware trading sector.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; a technical background (Electrical Engineering) is highly advantageous.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical products, including LV panels, wires, switchgear, and lighting systems.
- Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in POS systems, CRM tools, and MS Excel.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to handle stock, which may involve some manual handling.
