Job Description:
Duty Time: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
A driver for a steel manufacturing company typically operates heavy motor vehicles (HMV) to transport industrial materials or serves as a personal chauffeur for executives. Key responsibilities include ensuring safe, timely transport, adhering to traffic laws, vehicle maintenance, and maintaining professionalism, often requiring a Class 1 driver's license for heavy vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate heavy vehicles (trucks, tankers) to transport raw materials, TMT bars, or finished steel products.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform regular vehicle checks (oil, tires, fuel), maintain cleanliness, and comply with all safety regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Route Planning: Plan efficient routes, optimizing travel time to meet delivery schedules.
- Chauffeur Duties (if applicable): Provide secure transportation for executives, including handling luxury vehicles, maintaining discretion, and sometimes acting as a Personal Security Officer (PSO).
Required Skills and Qualifications
- License: Valid HMV (Heavy Motor Vehicle) license.
- Experience: Proven experience driving trucks or as a personal driver, particularly within the steel or heavy industry.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, or shifts to meet production demands.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to load/unload materials and handle manual tasks.
- Safety Orientation: Strong focus on safe driving practices and security protocols.
