Job Title: Production Head – Fabrication Manufacturing

Location: Pune
Department: Production & Operations
Experience Required: 10–18 Years (Minimum 5+ years in leadership role)

Job Purpose

To lead, plan, and oversee the entire fabrication production operations ensuring timely delivery, quality adherence, cost efficiency, workforce management, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

well conversant knowledge  about Fabrication of Pressure vessel, Distillation columns, Reactors as per ASME Section VIII , storage tank structural fabrication, assembly of Skids ( Lube oil skids), metering Skids, Ducting, in different metallurgy including  MS, SS and exotic materials.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

• Plan, organize and control daily fabrication shop activities.
• Prepare and execute monthly and weekly production schedules.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and material.
• Monitor WIP, productivity, and ensure achievement of production targets.

Quality & Process Control

• Ensure strict compliance with quality standards, drawings, WPS, PQR, and SOPs.
• Coordinate with QA/QC team to address defects, rework and NCRs.
• Implement process control techniques and quality improvement initiatives.

Cost, Efficiency & Resource Management

• Control production costs, reduce scrap, and improve material yield.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen & 5S practices.
• Drive productivity improvement and machine efficiency enhancement.

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

• Lead, mentor and develop production team, supervisors, welders, fitters & operators.
• Ensure discipline, safety awareness, and high morale among workforce.
• Conduct training for skill enhancement and safety compliance.

Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with Design, Planning, Purchase, QA/QC, Dispatch & Management teams.
• Review daily/weekly production meetings and MIS reporting.
• Ensure timely communication of risks, delays, and mitigation plans.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to statutory, safety and environmental norms.
• Promote safe working practices and enforce HSE compliance.
• Investigate accidents and implement preventive measures.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (Cutting, Welding, Bending, Assembly, Machining, Painting).
• Experience in Heavy/Structural/Process Equipment Fabrication (as applicable).
• Excellent leadership & decision-making ability.
• Hands-on experience in production planning and monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Understanding of standards like IS/ASME/API (as applicable).
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, production dashboards.

Education

• BE/Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
• Additional certification in Welding, Lean, TPM or Six Sigma preferred.
