Job Description:

Role Overview

The HR Head will lead the human resources function for the organization, ensuring efficient workforce management, strong compliance with labour laws, and alignment of HR strategies with business goals. This role is critical in maintaining statutory compliance, employee relations, and operational HR processes in a manufacturing setup.

Key Responsibilities

  1. HR Strategy & Leadership
    • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives
    • Build HR policies and procedures suitable for a manufacturing environment
    • Advise management on workforce planning and organizational development
  1. Compliance Management (Core Responsibility)
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable labour laws and regulations such as:
  • Factories Act
  • EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund)
  • ESIC (Employees’ State Insurance)
  • Minimum Wages Act
  • Payment of Bonus Act
  • Payment of Gratuity Act
    • Maintain statutory registers, records, and returns
    • Liaise with government authorities, inspectors, and auditors
    • Handle labour audits and compliance inspections
    • Ensure timely filings and documentation
    • Keep updated with changes in labour laws and implement accordingly
  1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment (especially shop-floor & technical roles)
  • Develop manpower planning strategies
  • Ensure timely hiring to meet production targets
  1. Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
  • Maintain healthy relations between management and workers
  • Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives
  1. Payroll & Compensation Management
  • Oversee payroll processing with statutory deductions
  • Ensure compliance in salary structure as per laws
  • Manage attendance, leave, and overtime systems
  1. Performance Management
  • Implement appraisal systems and performance tracking
  • Align employee goals with company objectives
  1. Training & Development
  • Identify training needs (especially safety & technical training)
  • Conduct onboarding and skill development programs
  1. Health, Safety & Welfare
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards under the Factories Act
  • Promote workplace safety and employee well-being
  • Monitor canteen, transport, and welfare facilities
  1. HR Operations & Documentation
  • Maintain employee records and HR MIS
  • Draft HR policies, appointment letters, contracts, and SOPs
  • Ensure proper documentation for audits

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • High attention to detail and documentation

Qualifications

  • MBA / PGDM in HR or equivalent
  • 10–15 years of HR experience (preferably in manufacturing)
