Job Description:
A Computer Operator in a steel company manages, monitors, and maintains computer systems, networks, and production data, ensuring 24/7 operational efficiency. Key duties include high-speed data entry (MS Excel/Google Sheets), tracking inventory/production, generating MIS reports, and troubleshooting IT issues. They often work in production or server room environments.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Data Entry & Management: Perform accurate, high-speed data entry of raw materials, production output, and wastage.
- System Operation: Monitor servers, mainframes, and production control systems for optimal performance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain daily production logs, prepare MIS reports, and manage documentation using MS Office (Excel/Word).
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on hardware (printers, CPUs) and software, and resolve user issues.
- System Security: Implement data backups and adhere to security protocols to protect network integrity.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with production, dispatch, and IT teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Graduate (Any discipline), with relevant experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word), Google Sheets, and basic networking knowledge.
- Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing or steel environment is highly preferred.
- Attributes: High typing accuracy, organizational skills, ability to work in shifts, and strong communication skills.
