Job Description:
A Shift Incharge for QC (Quality Control) in a steel company supervises daily production, ensuring all products meet quality standards and specifications during their shift. Key responsibilities include monitoring process parameters, conducting raw material to finished product inspections, minimizing rejections, and enforcing safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Quality Control & Inspection: Conduct testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished steel products. Monitor critical process parameters (temperature, chemistry) to ensure quality standards.
- Production Monitoring: Oversee production, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for melting and casting, according to.
- Defect Management: Identify, analyze, and resolve quality deviations to minimize rejections and customer complaints.
- Team Leadership: Guide and train plant operators/supervisors in maintaining quality standards and following safety (HSE) protocols.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate, real-time records of production, process parameters, and quality checks in systems like SAP/MES.
- Coordination: Coordinate with production and maintenance teams for equipment reliability.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience: Proven experience in steel manufacturing (DRI, SMS, Rolling Mill).
- Knowledge: Expertise in metallurgy, quality testing methods, and relevant equipment.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

The entity is engaged in setting up a Greenfield project at Mudpar --- Rampura villages in the Nawagarh tehsil, Bemetara district (near Mungeli), which includes 2×350 TPD DRI (sponge iron) kilns --- an 18-MW WHRB-based captive --- plant.
