Qualification: Any Graduate, ITI, Diploma with experience in Robotic weld programming & Setup, robot maintenance.
Job Description:
Robotic welder/ Programmer to weld sheet metal and structural components to specifications provided.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, fixture setup, tacking components, monitoring and feeding robotic welder, maintaining quality of weld and components, using computer programs, and required cleaning and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Write robotic weld programs that meet the quality specifications of customers while maintaining minimum weld cycle time;
• Inspect, measure, and/or test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices;
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment;
• Tacks components to be welded by the robot;
• Feeds parts to robot with as little down time as possible;
• Keeps welding spatter to a minimum, using spat guards and/or prohibitors as appropriate;
• Monitors and corrects weld defects (cold lap, porosity, undercut, etc.);
• Performs daily robot maintenance (cleanup, check for loose connections, etc.);
• Enters required information to computer;
• Completes routing sheets according to next required process;
• Completes welding processes according to production standards;
• Sets up tack fixtures and robotic work centers according to production standards;
• Is a productive member of his/her workgroup and adheres to all policies, including safety requirements/procedures, in order to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Adjust and set Robots to Production specifications
• Operate machines and process work as instructed by the Area supervisor.
• Identify and segregate non-conforming stock
• Ensuring parts are made or processed in accordance with instructions listed on the Process Control Plan and Inspection Sheet.
• Efficiently and effectively operating single OTC robot MIG weld cells
• Ensuring parts are made or processed in a prompt manner and production output figures are met.
Training/Certifications/Licenses:
• On-site training specific to job responsibilities;
• OTC Robotic Welder Training provided
• May require AWS certification as specified by customers
• Basic setup training of tack fixtures and robotic work centers (correct programs, correct jobs, etc.);
• Process and flaw detection monitoring techniques as determined necessary by the management personnel;
• Continuing education as made available and/or required
