Job Description:
An Assistant Accountant in a paint manufacturing company supports the finance department by handling day-to-day bookkeeping, inventory tracking, and tax compliance (GST/TDS) specific to manufacturing operations. They bridge the gap between production activities and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy in raw material costing and finished goods valuation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacturing/Cost Accounting: Track raw material purchases, inventory levels (batch-wise/product-wise), and finished goods inventory.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process supplier invoices for raw materials (pigments, resins, solvents) and manage customer invoicing for paint distribution.
- Data Entry & Reconciliation: Perform daily data entry of sales, purchases, cash, and bank transactions, primarily in ERP systems like Tally, Busy, or SAP.
- Statutory Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) returns.
- Financial Reporting Support: Assist in bank reconciliations, monthly/quarterly closing of books, and preparation of MIS reports for management.
- Production Monitoring: Reconcile inventory records with physical stock checks in the production store.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in a chemical or paint company.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or equivalent.
- Software Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally ERP 9/Prime or Busy.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles, inventory management, and statutory compliances (GST/TDS).
