Job Description:
A Computer Operator in a steel manufacturing plant manages, monitors, and maintains computer systems and production data, ensuring 24/7 operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include high-speed data entry of raw materials and inventory, generating MIS reports, running production schedules, and troubleshooting hardware/software, often in a shift-based role.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Data Entry & Inventory: Accurately enter and track raw materials, production output, and wastage data in Excel/Google Sheets.
- System Monitoring: Monitor servers, mainframes, and production control systems, responding promptly to error messages or alerts.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports on production metrics.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Maintain peripheral equipment (printers, CPUs), and install software updates.
- System Security: Implement regular data backups and ensure adherence to security protocols.
- Coordination: Work with production and dispatch departments to align IT operations with daily schedules
