Job Description:
- Furnace Monitoring: Operate SCADA/DCS/PLC panels to manage furnaces, including raw material feeding, power load, and voltage regulation.
- Quality & Process Control: Ensure correct tapping schedules, maintain alloy quality, and oversee cooling water systems.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve operational issues like electrode breakage, raw material jamming, or shutdowns.
- Coordination: Collaborate with field operators, shift engineers, and maintenance teams for smooth production and maintenance tasks.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring safe handling of hot metal and gases.
- Data Reporting: Record process data, raw material usage, downtime, and production figures. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Education: Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Metallurgy) or ITI.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in furnace operation in ferro alloys, steel, or sponge iron plants.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SCADA/DCS/PLC systems.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work in rotating shifts and handle high-pressure environments. [1, 2, 3, 4]
