FOREMAN FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH
Job Description:
- Supervision & Production: Direct steelworkers, fabricators, or technicians to meet production quotas and project schedules.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce all safety procedures, including the use of protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of tools and materials.
- Technical Operations: Interpret blue prints, structural drawings, and technical specifications for steel erection or fabrication.
- Maintenance: Supervise maintenance and repair of equipment (e.g., kilns, conveyors) and report malfunctions.
- Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure compliance with standards, ensuring proper positioning and welding of steel elements.
- Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and schedule crew members; manage worker absenteeism and conflicts.
- Documentation: Maintain daily records of progress, material usage, and incident reports. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]
- Experience: Proven experience as a foreman, often requiring 5–15+ years in industrial steel fabrication, erection, or maintenance.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of steel fixing, welding, structural steel works, and heavy machinery.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Certifications: Potential certifications in welding, rigging, or safety (e.g., OSHA, BOSIET) depending on the specialization. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Steel Structural Foreman: Focuses on structural steel fabrication and erection in industrial or oil & gas projects.
- Sponge Iron Division Foreman: Focuses on maintenance and operation of equipment like rotary kilns and conveyors.
- Steel Fixer Foreman: Leads crew in setting up reinforcing steel bars and PLATES.
