Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Tekla Checker / Lead Structural Steel Checker with strong expertise in US structural steel detailing, model checking, and drawing/sheet checking. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Tekla Structures (XSteel), SDS/2, and structural steel detailing for US-based projects with in-depth knowledge of AISC standards and US fabrication practices.
The candidate should be capable of independently reviewing and checking structural steel models, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, and miscellaneous steel detailing deliverables, while also leading and mentoring a team of checkers to ensure quality, compliance, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently perform detailed checking of structural steel models and fabrication deliverables for US-based projects
- Review and check:
- 3D Tekla / SDS/2 models
- Shop drawings
- Fabrication drawings
- Assembly drawings
- Erection drawings
- General Arrangement (GA) drawings
- Anchor bolt plans
- Material take-offs / BOM
- Conduct both:
- Model checking
- Sheet / drawing checking
- Verify detailing accuracy for:
- Structural steel members
- Connections
- Miscellaneous steel
- Stairs
- Handrails
- Ladders
- Platforms
- Gratings
- Embed plates
- Ensure compliance with:
- AISC standards
- AWS codes
- OSHA requirements
- ASTM specifications
- Client standards and project specifications
- Review member sizes, connection details, dimensions, elevations, fit-up, welds, bolts, assemblies, and erection details
- Identify discrepancies, detailing errors, clashes, missing information, and constructability issues
- Validate fabrication readiness and accuracy of deliverables
- Coordinate with modelers, detailers, project leads, engineers, and fabricators for issue resolution
- Review RFIs, markups, revisions, and project comments
- Maintain checking quality standards and documentation
- Lead and mentor a team of checkers
- Allocate checking assignments and monitor deliverables
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality benchmarks, and checking processes
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives

Required Technical Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- Tekla Structures / Tekla XSteel
- SDS/2
- Proven expertise in:
