Job Description:
A Logistics Team Leader oversees daily supply chain and transportation operations. They manage and train staff, track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure on-time delivery, and optimize processes to reduce costs. This role balances hands-on problem-solving with strategic resource planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management & Development: Train, mentor, and schedule logistics staff. Conduct performance evaluations and maintain a highly motivated workforce.
- Operations Oversight: Direct day-to-day warehouse and delivery activities. Monitor shipping schedules, route efficiency, and fleet performance to ensure on-time service.
- Performance Tracking: Analyze operational data and KPIs (like order accuracy and delivery times) to identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvements.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce safety regulations, warehouse protocols, and compliance with industry and government shipping standards.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Relations: Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), distributors, and cross-functional departments (such as procurement and customer service).
Essential Qualifications
- Experience: Typically 5 to 6 years of experience in supply chain, transportation, or warehouse operations, often including 5-6 years in a supervisory role.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Microsoft Excel.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities, clear communication, and the ability to negotiate and lead.
