Job Description:
A Junior Electrician (Fresher) in a chains manufacturing company assists senior technicians and engineers in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems for heavy-duty production machinery, control panels, and substations. The core focus is preventing equipment downtime and ensuring plant safety. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Core Responsibilities
- Assistance & Learning: Work alongside senior electricians to install and repair motors, transformers, and electrical wiring.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct basic, routine inspections of control panels, cooling systems, and chain-making machines.
- Troubleshooting: Learn to identify minor electrical faults, broken wires, and switchgear issues using multimeters and testing equipment.
- Plant Maintenance: Clean and maintain plant equipment, motors, and facility lighting fixtures.
- Safety Protocols: strictly adhere to company safety standards, including wearing protective gear, safe handling of high-voltage systems (like 33kV substations), and using proper grounding techniques.
- Record Keeping: Help senior staff track maintenance activities, part replacements, and daily equipment status.
Typical Requirements
- Education: ITI (Electrical/Wireman) or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Fresher (0 to 1 years of hands-on industrial exposure).
- Skills: Ability to read technical drawings, physical fitness to work in demanding manufacturing environments, and a keen willingness to learn.
