JR. ELECTRICIAN ROLLING MILL FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - RAIGARH , CHHATTISGARH
Job Description:
The Junior Electrician supports senior electricians and maintenance teams in ensuring smooth electrical operation of rolling mill machinery, minimizing downtime, and maintaining plant safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Maintenance
- Assist in maintenance of rolling mill electrical equipment such as motors, drives, control panels, and switchgear
- Support in routine inspection of electrical systems to detect faults or wear
- Help in preventive maintenance activities to avoid breakdowns
2. Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Assist in diagnosing electrical faults in machines like rolling stands, conveyors, cranes, and cooling systems
- Support repair or replacement of faulty components such as relays, fuses, contactors, and sensors
- Work under supervision during breakdown maintenance
3. Machine Operation Support
- Help ensure smooth electrical operation of rolling mill equipment
- Monitor panel indicators, alarms, and control systems
- Assist in machine start-up and shutdown procedures
4. Safety & Compliance
- Follow electrical safety rules, lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures, and PPE requirements
- Ensure safe handling of high-voltage equipment under supervision
- Report unsafe conditions or hazards immediately
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain basic maintenance logs and fault reports
- Record spare parts usage and assist in inventory tracking
- Report daily work updates to senior electrician/supervisor
6. Team Support
- Work closely with senior electricians, mechanical teams, and shift supervisors
- Assist during emergency breakdown situations
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems
- Knowledge of motors, control panels, wiring, and PLC basics (preferred)
- Ability to read electrical diagrams (basic level)
- Awareness of safety procedures in steel plant environment
Qualifications
- ITI in Electrical Trade (preferred)
- Freshers or 1–2 years experience in industrial/plant maintenance
