Job Description:
A Loading Supervisor in a steel trading company directs the safe and efficient movement of products (e.g., TMT bars, angles, plates) onto transport vehicles. They manage loading teams, ensure proper material stacking to prevent transit damage, enforce safety protocols, and handle critical dispatch documentation like delivery challans and weighbridge records. Key Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Supervise the loading and unloading of heavy steel products (channels, HR sheets, billets, and structural steel).
- Team Leadership: Direct manual labor teams and heavy equipment operators (forklift/crane drivers) to ensure efficient workflows.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards, prevent workplace accidents, and ensure safe material rigging.
- Quality & Inventory Control: Verify product grades, sizes, and quantities against physical inventory, checking for damage before dispatch.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain essential paperwork, including Loading Reports, Delivery Challans, and Weighbridge Records. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 1 to 5+ years of experience supervising material handling and dispatch in steel plants, coal washeries, or fabrication units in the Raipur/Chhattisgarh region.
- Product Knowledge: Strong ability to identify specific steel products and their dimensions.
- Skills: Strong physical coordination, team leadership, basic computer literacy (for inventory/billing), and problem-solving abilities. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
