Job Description:
A Security Supervisor in a steel trading and manufacturing environment manages daily security operations, oversees the guard team, and strictly enforces access control for heavy machinery and materials. Their primary goal is loss prevention, ensuring facility safety, and preventing unauthorized access to valuable inventory. [1, 2, 3]
Key Responsibilities
- Access Control: Manage strict entry/exit protocols for staff, visitors, and commercial vehicles. Verify gate passes and weighbridge slips for all incoming and outgoing steel consignments.
- Team Leadership: Assign duties, conduct daily briefings, and manage duty rosters for the security staff. Evaluate guard performance and ensure alertness across all shifts.
- Patrol & Surveillance: Conduct regular rounds of the stockyards, warehouses, and perimeter fencing. Actively monitor CCTV feeds to deter theft, pilferage, and property damage.
- Emergency Response: Lead the initial response for on-site emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, or industrial accidents. Act as a liaison with local law enforcement and emergency services.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of visitor entries, material movement, and incident reports. Escalate critical breaches to management. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant security experience, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or steel plant environment. Ex-servicemen are often preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and crisis-management skills. Proficiency in operating modern CCTV and access control systems is critical.
- Physical Fitness: Capability to walk the premises regularly and handle rotating shift work, including nights. [1, 2, 3]
