Operator - Utility
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor utility systems including:
-
Boilers, steam distribution, and condensate recovery
-
Cooling towers and chilled water systems
-
Air compressors and nitrogen generation units
-
Water treatment plants (RO, DM, softener, effluent treatment)
-
Fire water and safety systems
-
-
Perform routine inspections, start-ups, shutdowns, and adjustments to maintain stable operations.
-
Monitor and record operational parameters, ensuring compliance with SOPs, safety, and environmental standards.

Conduct basic troubleshooting and escalate issues to maintenance/engineering teams when needed.

Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities by coordinating with maintenance teams.
-
Ensure adherence to energy efficiency practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain accurate logbooks, reports, and shift handover documentation.
-
Participate actively in safety drills, audits, and incident reporting.

Train and mentor junior operators and contract workforce.
Key Skills & Competencies:
-
Strong knowledge of utility systems operation in chemical/petrochemical or process industries.
-
Hands-on expertise with boilers, chillers, compressors, and water treatment units.
-
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, SOPs, and operating manuals.

Familiarity with DCS/PLC systems (basic operation).
-
Good understanding of safety practices, HAZOP, and emergency handling.
-
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
-
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
