Job Description:
A Computer Operator with design work responsibilities executes daily digital operations while managing, formatting, and creating visual assets or layouts. They bridge routine system maintenance with creative production, handling everything from data entry and inventory management to desktop publishing and design adjustments. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Core Responsibilities
Design & Desktop Publishing (DTP)
- Create, format, and layout documents, brochures, flyers, or marketing materials using industry-standard tools.
- Edit and manipulate images, graphics, and text for print or digital distribution.
- Maintain and organize digital design asset libraries (logos, templates, font libraries, and images).
- Adjust and refine design layouts based on feedback from managers or clients. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Computer Operations & Data Processing
- Execute daily computer operations and ensure software functions smoothly.
- Manage data entry, digitize records, and generate detailed reports.
- Perform routine data backups and system maintenance tasks to ensure data security.
- Troubleshoot software or hardware errors and coordinate with IT or maintenance teams when necessary. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Administrative & Workflow Support
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of DTP and design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, CorelDRAW) and office applications (MS Office, Google Workspace).
- Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and fix basic system glitches, printer jams, and software issues.
- Organization & Detail: Exceptional eye for layout, typography, and color accuracy, combined with high-speed, accurate typing skills. [1, 2, 3, 4]
