Job Description: Sales Manager (Hospitality)

Role Overview

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue, securing new business, and maintaining relationships with existing clients to maximize hotel occupancy and profitability. This role focuses on selling guest rooms, catering/banquet spaces, and meeting facilities. The ideal candidate is a proactive go-getter who understands market trends, excels at networking, and can effectively close deals to meet or exceed budgetary goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Generation & Business Development: * Identify, solicit, and secure new business from various market segments (corporate, leisure, group, MICE — Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions).

    • Conduct outbound sales calls, site inspections, and face-to-face presentations to potential clients.

  • Account Management: * Maintain and grow relationships with existing corporate accounts, travel agents, and event planners.

    • Negotiate room rates, banquet prices, and contract terms to maximize profitability while ensuring client satisfaction.

  • Market Intelligence & Strategy:

    • Monitor competitor rates, trends, and sales strategies.

    • Collaborate with the Revenue Management and Marketing teams to design and execute targeted sales campaigns and promotions.

  • Reporting & Administration:

    • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports, forecasting future business pipelines.

    • Maintain accurate client profiles and booking details within the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS) or CRM (e.g., Opera, Delphi, Salesforce).

Required Qualifications & Skills

Requirement Description
Education Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience 3–5 years of sales experience within the hotel or hospitality industry (proven track record of meeting quotas).
Tech Savvy Proficiency with hotel CRM/PMS systems (e.g., Opera, Amadeus, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Soft Skills Exceptional negotiation, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Relationship Builder: Ability to connect easily with diverse personalities, from corporate executives to brides-to-be.
