Job Description:

Position : Business Development – Power Trading

Location : Mumbai

Power Trading:

  • Candidate must be well conversant with Power Exchange Regulations and Open Access Regulations.
  • Handling entire power trading activities
  • Derivation of surplus power availability, bid preparation and bid submission on power exchanges (DAM/G-DAM/RTM/TAM)
  • Application processing under Firm/Day-ahead/Contingency and receipt of Approvals
  • Getting open access approvals and scheduling of power.
  • Regular coordination with NOAR/RLDC/SLDC/DISCOM’s for open access approvals for timely scheduling of power under T-GNA/GNA.
  • Establish entire power sale arrangements of surplus power from internal generating assets and Strategy formulation for sale of power in the market.
  • Drafting, negotiating and finalizing short/medium term power purchase agreements (PPA)
  • Finalizing Energy accounts based on implemented schedules, reconciliation with State Energy Account, Regional Energy Account and DISCOM bills.
  • Billing of all transactions as per billing schedule, Co-ordination for timely payments and energy bill settlement in accordance with the terms of agreements and within designated timelines
  • Tracking of revisions in schedules and Co-ordination with Nodal agency for proper scheduling of power
  • Candidate should have experience of trading power on different platforms
  • Candidate to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and guidelines set by CERC and appropriate authorities. Stay updated on regulatory changes and its implications.
  • Handling central/state/DISCOM issues
  • Managing Compliances of required regulatory norms (Reporting and compliance obligations)
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with customers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Should possess updated information on industry trends and market data.
  • Should work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve business targets and organizational goals.

 

Ideal Skills:

  • 7 – 10 yrs years of experience.
  • Experience in power trading, scheduling, billing.
  • In-depth knowledge of open access policies, regulations, and market dynamics in India.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and technical skills to work closely with other teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Team collaboration and conflict resolution skills
