About the Role
The Service Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring complete service operations for industrial cranes, hoists, lifting equipment, and heavy engineering machinery.
The role requires close coordination with customers, project teams, service engineers, procurement, and management to ensure high equipment availability, minimal downtime, and superior service quality.

Key Responsibilities
1. Service Operations Management
Lead the complete service department and ensure smooth execution of all field activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage Mechanical and Electrical Service Engineers.
- Plan daily, weekly, and monthly service schedules.
- Allocate manpower efficiently across multiple customer locations.
- Monitor field activities and ensure timely completion.
- Improve service efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure adherence to customer SLAs.
- Maintain high first-time fix rates.
- Monitor service response and closure timelines.
- Optimize service costs without compromising quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
2. Installation & Commissioning of Industrial Equipment
Lead installation and commissioning activities for various material handling systems.
Equipment includes:
- EOT Cranes
- Double Girder Cranes
- Single Girder Cranes
- Wire Rope Hoists
- Chain Hoists
- Gantry Cranes
- JIB Cranes
- Goods Lifts
- Industrial Hoisting Systems
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise installation at customer sites.
- Verify engineering drawings and layouts.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules.
- Inspect structural alignment.
- Test motors, gearboxes, brakes, couplings, drives, and electrical systems.
- Validate VFD programming and control panels.
- Conduct load testing before commissioning.
- Ensure successful customer handover.
3. Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC)
Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for industrial customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare AMC schedules.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance visits.
- Conduct equipment inspections.
- Monitor machine health.
- Reduce equipment failures.
- Improve machine reliability.

4. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

- Recommend replacement schedules.

5. Breakdown Maintenance & Emergency Support
Ensure quick response for emergency service requests.

- Attend emergency breakdown calls.
- Coordinate engineers for urgent repairs.
- Identify root causes of failures.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Recommend permanent corrective actions.
- Ensure spare part availability.
- Restore equipment within committed timelines.
