Job Description:
Position Title: Engineer / Senior Engineer – Mould Maintenance
Key Responsibilities
1. Mould Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Execute preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance on complex plastic injection moulds.
- Inspect, polish, repair, and clean mould components such as cores, cavities, sliders, ejector pins, and guide pillars.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Hot Runner systems, manifold systems, and sequential valve gating systems.
- Detect and resolve common moulding defect issues related to tool wear (e.g., flash, short shots, silver streaks, burn marks).
2. Tool Room Operations & Machining
- Read and interpret complex 2D/3D engineering blueprints and tool design drawings.
- Operate conventional tool room machines like EDM, grinding, milling, and lathe machines for modification work.
- Use precision measuring instruments (micrometres, vernier calipers, dial gauges) to maintain strict tolerances.
- Support new product development (NPD) by handling mould trials and implementing engineering change notes (ECN).
3. Operational Excellence & Quality Systems
- Track and optimize critical metrics such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) for moulds.
- Implement and sustain TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), 5S, and Kaizen methodologies inside the tool room.
- Ensure strict adherence to automotive quality audits like IATF 16949 and ISO standards.
- Complete documentation, including mold history cards, preventive maintenance checklists, and breakdown reports.
4. Inventory & Safety Management
- Manage critical spare parts inventory for moulds (e.g., core pins, heaters, thermocouples, O-rings) to eliminate production downtime.
- Ensure safety protocols (like LOTO - Lockout/Tagout) are systematically followed during heavy mould handling and overhead crane operations
- Location: MIDC Waluj, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
- Experience Required: 4 to 7 Years in Plastic Injection Moulding Tool Room/Maintenance
- Industry: Automotive Component Manufacturing (Tier-1 OEM Supplier)
- Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or CIPET (DPMT/PDPMT)
