Role Summary

The Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager – Purchase will be responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring construction materials required for project execution. The role ensures uninterrupted material availability, cost optimization, vendor development, procurement compliance, and effective coordination with project, engineering, finance, and stores teams to support timely completion of construction projects.

KRA: Task / Activities

  • Plan procurement schedules based on project timelines and material requirements.
  • Source, evaluate, onboard, and manage vendors and suppliers.
  • Obtain quotations, compare offers, negotiate commercial terms, and finalize procurement.
  • Prepare, issue, and monitor Purchase Orders while ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
  • Monitor market trends and implement cost-saving procurement strategies.
  • Maintain procurement documentation, vendor records, contracts, and statutory compliance.
  • Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Finance, Stores, and Site teams for timely material availability.
  • Verify invoices, coordinate vendor payments, and resolve procurement-related issues.
  • Track deliveries and ensure purchased materials meet quality specifications.
  • Prepare procurement MIS reports, vendor performance reports, and purchase analytics.

KPI: Performance Metrics

  • Timely procurement of materials as per project schedule.
  • Percentage of procurement cost savings achieved.
  • Vendor delivery adherence and procurement lead time.
  • Material availability without project delays.
  • Vendor performance and relationship management.
  • Accuracy of procurement documentation and ERP records.
  • Inventory optimization and reduction in emergency purchases.
Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes in Real Estate & Construction.
  • Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or equivalent).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and procurement reporting.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and commercial procurement.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.

Preferred skills

  • Experience in residential/commercial construction projects.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing and supplier evaluation.
  • Exposure to inventory planning and supply chain coordination.
  • Good commercial acumen and cost control techniques.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
