Job Description:
A Store Manager (or Store Head) in a ferro alloys plant directs the supply chain of raw materials (ores, coal, scrap), consumables, and finished goods. They ensure accurate inventory, prevent production delays by providing timely material supply, and strictly enforce safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Control & Traceability: Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of heavy bulk materials and spare parts using FIFO/FEFO methods. Maintain traceability for all lots.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Ensure a continuous supply of ores (e.g., manganese, chrome), fluxes, and reducing agents to production floors to support Submerged Arc Furnaces.
- System Management: Reconcile stock and execute transactions using ERP modules like SAP MM or Tally ERP
- Audit & Compliance: Conduct routine stock audits and ensure strict compliance with warehouse safety standards.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with logistics and suppliers for timely raw material delivery.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Production) or a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management / Commerce.
- Experience: Typically 6 to 15 years in warehouse or store management within the heavy manufacturing, metallurgical, or steel industry.
- Core Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, raw material handling, and stock reconciliation.
