Development Manager
Location: Bhopal (Head Office)
Reports To: Managing Director
Industry: FMCG Manufacturing – Perfumery (Incense Sticks, Dhoop), Fabric Care & Home Care (Detergents, Dishwash), Spices & Edible Salts
Experience: Minimum 10 years in Export Sales / International Business Development
CTC: Competitive (Negotiable based on experience)
Role Summary
This is a strategic business development role focused on establishing and expanding the company's export business. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying international business opportunities, developing overseas markets, acquiring distributors and importers, and driving sustainable export sales growth. The role requires a commercially driven professional who can independently build export business while coordinating with internal teams to
ensure seamless order execution.
Key Responsibilities
Export Sales & Business Development
• Develop and execute strategies to establish and grow the company's export business.
• Identify and acquire new international customers, distributors, importers, wholesalers and channel partners.
• Generate qualified export leads through market research, B2B platforms, trade portals, exhibitions and industry networks.
• Develop new international markets and expand the company's global customer base.
• Build long-term business relationships with overseas customers and strategic partners.
• Prepare commercial proposals, quotations and negotiate pricing, payment terms and supply agreements.
• Achieve export sales targets and drive consistent revenue growth.
Export Operations & Market Development
• Coordinate with production, logistics and finance teams for timely execution of export orders.
• Ensure smooth preparation of export documentation and compliance with international trade regulations.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, shipping lines and logistics partners for timely shipments.
• Monitor international market trends, competitor activities and customer requirements to identify new business opportunities.
• Represent the company at international trade fairs, buyer-seller meets and virtual business meetings, as required.
Candidate Profile
Experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Export Sales, International Business Development or International Marketing.
• Proven track record of generating export business and achieving international sales targets.
• Experience in developing overseas distributor networks and B2B customer relationships.
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, food products, home care or consumer goods exports will be preferred.
Skills & Attributes
• Strong understanding of international trade practices, export documentation, shipping procedures and Incoterms.
• Excellent business development, negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Ability to independently identify opportunities and build new international markets.
• Strong commercial acumen with a target-driven and result-oriented approach.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and experience with CRM systems will be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
