Job Description:
A Head of Quality leads an organization’s quality management systems (QMS), ensuring products and services consistently meet customer expectations and regulatory standards. This executive role spans strategic planning, risk management, compliance, and continuous improvement frameworks like Lean or Six Sigma.
Strategic Leadership
- Define the overarching quality vision, policy, and strategic goals in alignment with broader business objectives.
- Establish measurable KPIs (defect rates, cost of poor quality) and present dashboards to executive management.
- Champion a company-wide culture where error prevention supersedes defect detection.
Quality Management Systems (QMS) & Compliance
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive QMS frameworks aligned with standards like ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or GMP.
- Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring seamless regulatory and industry certifications.
- Ensure total traceability of materials and processes across the entire supply and manufacturing chain.
Process Optimization & Defect Reduction
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, or 5S to minimize scrap, rework, and waste.
- Establish robust supplier quality requirements and collaborate with purchasing to ensure external materials are reliable.
- Direct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) to solve systemic issues and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Customer Advocacy & Risk Management
- Act as the ultimate customer advocate, translating field feedback, warranty claims, and complaints into actionable design or production changes.
