Job Description:
A Quality Inspector ensures products meet exact safety and company standards by testing materials, measuring dimensions against blueprints, and documenting defects. They prevent faulty goods from reaching customers and help resolve production line issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Inspection: Approve or reject incoming raw materials against defined quality criteria and record supplier performance.
- In-Process & Final Testing: Use precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, and CMM machines) to check product dimensions, tolerances, and functionality at various production stages.
- Defect Documentation: Document non-conformance, complete inspection reports, track re-work and waste, and log data into quality databases.
- Equipment Calibration: Ensure all measurement devices are functioning accurately and report issues requiring maintenance or replacement.
- Safety & Compliance: Review the entire production cycle to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards and guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree or certification in quality control is generally preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, or a related role.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and manuals.
- Attention to Detail: High level of analytical and problem-solving skills to detect and report recurring flaws.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report findings to managers and collaborate with production teams.
