Job Description:
A Quality Head oversees an organization's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring products and services consistently exceed customer expectations and meet industry regulations. They drive strategic quality planning, manage QA teams, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to minimize waste and optimize operational excellence.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide quality policies and standards aligned with certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and allocate resources for QA/QC teams, ensuring high-performance standards.
- Process Improvement: Utilize data-driven methods (e.g., SPC, root cause analysis) to reduce defect rates, scrap, and rework costs.
- Compliance & Audits: Plan and oversee internal, supplier, and external certification audits.
- Customer Advocacy: Investigate customer complaints, analyze field feedback, and establish corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
- Budget & Reporting: Prepare quality budgets, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and present quality reports to senior management.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years in quality assurance/control, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role.
- Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ certifications (e.g., CMQ/OE), or Lead Auditor credentials are highly desired.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QMS software, statistical analysis tools, and understanding of industry-specific regulatory standards.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to foster a culture of quality across the entire organization.
